The GyroHaler® is a novel, pre-metered multi-dose, “passive” dry powder inhaler for effective local delivery of drugs into the lungs. It is suitable for the delivery of a wide range of respiratory drugs. The active pharmaceutical is packaged in blisters. Close -

The OmniHaler® is a novel, pre-metered multi-dose, “passive” dry powder inhaler for effective local delivery of drugs into the lungs. It is suitable for the delivery of a wide range of respiratory drugs. The active pharmaceutical is packaged in blisters. Close -

The Clickhaler® is a multi-dose, reservoir dry powder inhaler using well-proven technology. It is approved for use and marketed to treat asthma and COPD with a number of different drugs (salbutamol, beclometasone, formoterol, budesonide and procaterol) in a number of countries in Europe and in Japan. It is inexpensive to produce and production is fully automated. Close -

The Duohaler® is a fixed combination therapy, multi-dose dry powder inhaler. It has two separate drug reservoirs, which feed two individual drug formulations to two separate metering chambers from which the drugs are delivered to the patient in the same breath thus avoiding co-formulation issues. The Duohaler® is therefore ideally suited for the delivery of fixed combination therapy for asthma and COPD. Close -

Aspirair® is Vectura’s high-performance, patent-protected dry powder inhaler (DPI) technology, designed primarily to allow delivery with high lung penetration and low variability, essential for drugs that are intended for systemic delivery. The device is conveniently sized, simple to use, and economical compared to other ‘active’ inhalers. It is a multiple use device using individual blisters. Close -

The S2™ Unit Dose device is being developed as a re-useable or disposable single-dose dry powder inhaler. It is designed to be easy to use and inexpensive to manufacture and may be suitable for a wide range of conditions requiring a rapid onset of effect such as migraine, nausea/vomiting and analgesia, or which require a short duration of therapy or occasional use. PowderHale® is Vectura’s patented formulation technology, designed to allow aerosolised drug particles to achieve high lung penetration with low dose variability. This is achieved by the incorporation of an additional pharmacologically inactive excipient, known as a Force Control Agent (FCA) to the active drug component or the carrier-based formulation. The formulation of drugs for inhalation is more complex than for oral delivery. Different approaches are needed depending on whether the treatment is for local or systemic action. For systemic delivery the dose needs to be formulated and produced such that particles are less than five microns in size. Vectura has know-how and expertise in the following formulation technologies: micronisation, blending, spray drying, polyol stabilisation and pulmonary controlled release.
