In the latest edition of ONdrugDELIVERY, Andreas Meliniotis, Director Device Development looks at the factors that should be considered when designing devices with a view to sustainable connectivity.
“The key design focus is on the user and the intended use to ensure that patient needs are met,” explains Andreas. “There are, however, other needs that should be considered, particularly those of wider stakeholders across the supply chain, including the manufacturer, prescriber and payer.”
Andreas shares a table showing the levels of energy consumption during the manufacture of plastic components for different types of connected devices.
